Swift Action by RPF Saves Passenger Who Slipped While Alighting Moving Train at Margao

A potentially fatal incident was averted at Margao Railway Station on Saturday evening after a passenger slipped while attempting to alight from the moving Konkan Kanya Express (Train No. 20112) during its 7 pm departure. The man fell into the gap between the train and the platform, prompting an immediate response from Konkan Railway’s Railway Protection Force (RPF).

Constable Kapil Saini and Head Constable R. S. Bhai swiftly intervened, pulling the passenger to safety within seconds. Their prompt action prevented what could have been a serious accident.

Recognising their alertness and bravery, Konkan Railway CMD Santosh Kumar Jha awarded both RPF personnel ₹10,000 each. The rescued passenger expressed gratitude to the team for saving his life.

The Konkan Railway has once again urged passengers not to board or alight from moving trains and to adhere strictly to railway safety guidelines to avoid such incidents.
