PANJIM: As against speculation about lockdown extension, the three-day state-wide lockdown ends at 6am Monday. However, lockdown in Mormugao taluka which has reported highest COVID-19 cases will continue till July 24. The night curfew from 8pm to 6am will also continue across the State till August 10.
Minister Michael Lobo informed about the lifting of lockdown post 6am Monday. “Lockdown not to continue for tomorrow (Monday). Government will review the situation on Wednesday and decide any possibility of future lockdown,” he said.

Whereas the government issued a press release informing about lockdown extension in Mormugao taluka. “The Government of Goa has decided to continue lockdown for Mormugao taluka till 6am on July 24, 2020 for containment of COVID-19. Formal order will be issued shortly. Rest of Goa will follow night curfew till August 10, 2020, except for containment zones which are governed by the orders issued by the
Collector,” the Directorate of Information & Publicity said in a short media statement released on Sunday evening.
The State observed lockdown from Friday, July 17 till 6am, Monday, July 20. The Janta Curfew came into force from 8pm Thursday, July 16 which will continue till August 10. However, industrial estates and quite a few working places continued to remain open amidst criticism from people questioning effective implementation of lockdown.
