President of Sernabatim Tourist Taxi Association Lavesh Goes condemned the letter issued by the Tourism director and demanded a stop to such authorizations. “The Russian national may be in possession of a business visa, but that does not mean that she can work as a guide. What the business visa implies is that the holder should run a business. “We fail to understand why the tourism department should go out of the way and issue an authorization letter that so and so national has a business visa and is authorized as a tour and travel agent”, he wondered.

Replying to a question, he said the tourist taxi operators have protested the tourism department’s move as the government has come out in support of foreign nationals form eating the tourism pie at the cost of the local people.

The Sernabatim Tourist Taxi operators have decided to call on Chief Minister, Manohar Parirkar on the issue.
