In a tragic incident a 16-year-old boy, identified as Valenkino Pinto, lost his life in a drowning incident on Friday morning at Colva Beach. The incident took place at approximately 10:30 am when Pinto, with his friends, ventured into the sea for a swim. As they went further into the water, Pinto was caught and pulled in by the force of the waves.
Compounding the tragedy, the absence of a lifeguard on-site intensified the situation, leaving locals with no immediate assistance. Subsequently, residents had to journey to the neighboring village to seek help from lifeguards.
