PONDA: A house at Mestawada in Curti-Khandepar was damaged after a huge tree crashed on it following heavy downpour on Wednesday morning.
According to Ponda fire station officer Sushil Morajkar, the tree came crashing down on the house of one Yashwant Desai causing a loss of Rs 1.5 lakh. Not only the roof and sheets, the compound wall was also damaged.
The fire personnel later cleared the tree. Due to incessant rains since past two days, incidents of trees getting uprooted and damaging houses and electric poles were reported in the taluka.
