VASCO: Six vehicles were damaged after a gulmohar tree uprooted and fell on the parked vehicles in a crowded place of Sunday market, here.
The State has been witnessing heavy rainfall in the evenings since past few days. According to the Vasco Fire Department sources, the incident occurred at around 12 pm. A total of six vehicles were damaged after a gulmohar tree fell on the power lines.
Fortunately, no one was present at the spot hence there were no casualties. Three out of five two-wheelers were badly damaged along with a Maruti Swift car.
After receiving the information, the fire fighters rushed to the spot, cut the tree trunk and branches to clear the road. The Electricity Department personnel also cut off the power supply till the work was completed and later restored the power.
