A container truck carrying crates overturned at Verna junction on Thursday morning, leading to major traffic disruption during peak hours.
The truck, loaded with hundreds of crates from the Verna industrial area, was reportedly headed towards Bangalore when the accident occurred. The vehicle overturned at the busy junction, spilling crates across the road and creating a chaotic scene.
Motorists were forced to pull their cars and two-wheelers aside as the fallen crates blocked a significant portion of the carriageway. A long queue of vehicles soon built up, affecting office-goers and daily commuters travelling through the area.
Police from Verna station rushed to the spot and initiated clearance operations to restore normal traffic flow. Efforts were undertaken to remove the damaged crates and reposition the vehicle, which had toppled onto its side.
No serious injuries were reported in the incident.
Meanwhile, several passersby were seen carrying away crates from the accident site on their motorcycles and in cars before authorities could completely secure the area.
Traffic movement gradually resumed after the road was cleared. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be officially confirmed.
