Tuem pharma firm workers strike work

Workers of a pharmaceutical company in Tuem-Pernem and members of Goa Trade and Commercial Workers Union, Kamgar Ekvott and Jagruti Kamgar Sangatana on Tuesday struck work for about two hours in protest against the management and demanded their payment and productivity-linked bonus.
According to sources, the bonus has been pending for the last two and half years.
The workers demanded that EDC Chairman and Calangute MLA Agnelo Fernandes should be appointed as chairman of management committee. The workers further demanded immediate settlement of their long-pending charter of demands.
About 165 workers took part in the protest, which ended at 5.30 pm.
