Two arrested in Karnataka for abduction and sexual assault of woman

Police in Karnataka’s Hubballi have arrested two men for allegedly abducting and sexually assaulting a woman, while another man was held for circulating obscene visuals of the incident on WhatsApp. The incident reportedly took place between 11.30 pm and 12 am on Friday.

According to police, the 35-year-old woman was approached by two men travelling in an auto-rickshaw near Ambedkar Ground. The case came to light after members of the public handed over the visuals to the police. Initially, the woman’s identity and whereabouts were unknown, prompting consideration of a suo motu case. She was later traced in Hubballi, where investigations revealed she had been living at multiple locations in the city for nearly one and a half months, often seeking food and shelter near Siddharoodha Math and nearby temples.
