Two culverts in Pernem on verge of collapse

PERNEM: Porascadem, Varkhand villagers wants to draw attention of the authorities towards two culverts located in the villages before any untoward incident. According to locals, the culverts have developed cracks due to continuous movement of heavy vehicles and need urgent repairs.
Locals claimed due to continuous movement of heavy vehicles the small culverts located at Nigal Porascadem and Varkhand, have developed cracks.
It is learnt that the traffic cell has restricted movement of heavy vehicles on these two culverts and have put up a board. However, the drivers ignore the warning. This particular road connects the Porascadem village to Nagzar via Varkhand villages. It is also a short cut road to reach Pirna, Bicholim, Sanquelim and other villages through the Ozari Bridge. This road connects to the NH 17 at place called Sukekolan and vice versa. This road is used to avoid travelling on NH 17, people use this road.
