MARGAO: Fatorda Police Station registered its first daylight burglary case as two flats in Raghukool Apartments at Borda were broken into and gold and cash was stolen from them in broad daylight between 1 pm and 3 pm.
Frenzie D’Mello’s flat on the first floor was broken into and seven gold bangles along with two gold chains all belonging to her mother were stolen along with Rs 30,000 in cash as Frenzie had gone out for lunch with her children at around 1 pm. The theft was discovered when she returned home at around 3 pm.
Her neighbour Smita Mali’s flat on the first floor was also broken into when Smita had gone to her neighbour’s house. A gold chain and necklace along with Rs 2,500 were stolen from her house.
Inhabitants of the building which is in U shape were advised by the police to install CCTV cameras but no action was taken to do so.
