They were riding a motorcycle when they came under the rear wheel of a tipper truck. At the time of the accident, Bhagvan Patil Singh and Manish Mahanand Pillai, both residents of Birim-Shiroda, were proceeding from Arlem towards Gogol Eastern bypass.
The tipper truck carrying wooden logs was proceeding in the same direction. The two youth were on a Hero Passion motorcycle. In a tragic sequence of events that unfolded in seconds, both the rider and pillion came under the rear wheel of the truck and their heads were crushed.
The bodies have been sent for post mortem. Further investigations are underway by Margao police.
