MARGAO: The Colva PI Uttam Raut Dessai on Friday evening rescued two Russian girls from a hotel in Colva and sent them to the protective home at Merces. According to information the victims hailing from Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan in Russia were brought from north Goa.
Auda Viegas of NGO Bailancho Ekvott who assisted Colva police demanded that police and government hold thorough probe in the racket of getting Russian girls in particular for prostitution under the gasp of ayurvedic massage. She stated that accused involved in the present racket had advertised in an English daily offering service of ayurvedic relax and rejuvenate therapy for ladies and gents at their doorsteps. A contact number was also mentioned in the advertisement that the customer could contact.
Viegas alleged that the racket seems to be big, spread not only in Goa but also in Delhi, Mumbai and elsewhere in the country. In the present case the two victim girls were brought to Colva on offer of individual payment of Rs 20,000. Viegas stated that hotels cannot rent rooms for massage when such parlours are available at the doorstep of hotels. She further said that there should be strict vigil and monitoring of all hotels by police and other authorities so that they are not used for prostitution and other illegal purposes. Viegas demanded the police to take suo motto cognizance of the incident and move to seal the hotel premises involved in the present case.
Meanwhile Colva PI Dessai informed that on reading the advertisement in the daily he used a decoy to contact the number given and after the deal was made the two victims were sent on Friday by the contacted person who claimed to be Kevin alias Mhaco.
PI Dessai further informed that the said Kevin has been acting as pimp and running the flash trade for personnel benefit along with a lady called Alisha. The PI also informed that the victim from Kyrgyzstian is involved and booked in two similar cases by the Calangute police.
An offence under section 4, 5 and 7 of Immoral Traffic Prevention Act has been registered by Colva police against accused Kevin and Alisha and the police is on the look out for them. PI Dessai is investigating the case.
