MARGAO: Residents of Curtorim are fed up with the deteriorating condition of the road leading to Grande Rumbordem in the villages.

Locals claim that the road has become hazardous and unmotorable due to damages caused by underground cabling works and frequent water line breakages.
The road, which serves as a vital route for the community, has been left in a perilous state, causing both inconvenience and an increase in accidents.
“With Christmas just around the corner, we urge the authorities to take prompt action and repair the road, as well as address the recurring water line issues,” said Roque Virgilio Mascarenhas, a local resident and social activist. “The safety and well-being of the community should not be compromised,” he added.
Pedestrians, including children and the elderly, are particularly at risk, as they find it difficult to navigate the stretch safely. In response, a formal request has been submitted to the Curtorim Panchayat and the Public Works Department (PWD) in Margao, urging them to prioritise the repairs.
Residents are hopeful that the authorities will act swiftly to restore the road and ensure public safety, especially during the festive season. They also call on all concerned parties to take notice and apply pressure on the relevant departments to expedite the necessary repairs.
