New Zealand strengthened their position in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 standings after registering a commanding 253-run victory over England in the second Test at Kennington Oval, London. Despite the emphatic win, the Black Caps remain fourth in the table due to percentage points (PCT), level with Sri Lanka at 66.67%.
The Kiwis have now played five matches in the current WTC cycle, winning three, losing one and drawing one. Their latest triumph helped them move to 40 points, although they still trail table-toppers Australia, who continue to dominate the standings with a PCT of 87.50%.

South Africa remain second with a PCT of 75.00%, while Sri Lanka hold third place despite having played only two matches. Bangladesh occupy fifth spot, ahead of India, who are sixth with a PCT of 48.15%.
For England, the defeat further dented their WTC campaign. The hosts remain seventh in the standings, having managed just four wins from 12 matches. With seven defeats and one draw, England’s PCT stands at a disappointing 34.72%, highlighting their struggles in the longest format despite being one of the world’s leading cricket nations.
Pakistan are eighth after a difficult start to their campaign, while West Indies remain rooted to the bottom of the table with just four points from eight matches.
