BICHOLIM: Members of Upper Harvalem Comunidade have brought objections to the illegalities committed by the comunidade committee by selling the land.
Addressing a press conference, Tulahidas Malik stated that the committee is selling the land by making plots and demanded that the land should be taken back.
“There are around 26 members, who have opposed the move of the committee and demanded for an action against the committee. Most of the land has been sold to the non-Goans and the members want that the land should be taken back,” he said.
“These illegalities are going on since last five years and we have approached every authority. This should be immediately stopped,” another member, Mahadev Malik said.
As per the members, these illegalities are going on in spite of an administrator, who was appointed to stop these illegal practices.
The members stated that all their pleas have fallen on deaf ears. They also demanded that an immediate action should be taken against the committee and the government should also take action against them.
They have also threatened to take law into their own hands if these practices do not stop. Comunidade members including Ganesh Malik, Vasant Malik, Vithal Malik, Ramnath Malik, Prakash Malik, Anand Malik and others were present.
