It’s been over a month now that the garbage is dumped along the roadside at Madhalebhat Siolim. Neither the local panchayat nor the locals from Madhalebhat have shown any interest in clearing the waste, said a passer-by who commutes on this road.

“One hand, the BJP government promises Swatch Bharat Abhiyan but on the other hand, irresponsible citizens as well as the local bodies are entertaining dumping of garbage openly along roadside,” claimed the commuter.

Almost a 50-metre stretch is completely filled with garbage which is seen increasing slowly and steadily. Since most of the waste is from household, the dark spot is also turning a food zone for stray animals who loiter on the road causing inconvenience to the commuters, especially motorists.
