Vigilance Officials Inspect Calvim Bridge in Aldona Following Complaint of Misappropriation and Substandard Work

Officials from the Directorate of Vigilance, Government of Goa, on Wednesday conducted a site inspection at Calvim Bridge, Aldona, as part of an ongoing vigilance enquiry.

The inspection was carried out following a complaint dated October 29, 2024, filed by Devidas Gopinath Panjikar of Podwal, Khorjuem, Aldona. The complaint alleged misappropriation of funds, release of payment without a completion certificate, and substandard work in connection with the bridge project.

Present during the inspection were representatives from the Public Works Department (PWD) — including the Executive Engineer and Assistant Engineer from Work Division XIII (Roads), Mapusa — along with officials from the Directorate of Vigilance.

The team conducted a detailed on-site assessment of the bridge and its surrounding infrastructure to verify the allegations raised. Officials confirmed that further action will be taken based on the findings of the inspection report once it is finalized.
