PONDA: The villagers of Veling-Priol-Cuncoliem Panchayt strongly opposed the mobile tower installed on agricultural land at Veling, during the gram sabha on Sunday. The villagers demanded dismantling of the tower and strict action against those who installed it.
The locals said that tower is harmful to agricultural land as well as to the people residing in the surrounding.
After the meeting, Samir Naik, a villager, told the media that the issue of mobile tower was not allowed to be discussed in detail at the gram sabha.
Some villagers also alleged that two panchas and the secretary were behind allowing the tower on agricultural land.
