PANJIM: Former Deputy Speaker Vishnu Surya Wagh has not been entirely discharged from medical treatment but has been sent home for a month for a change and to see how he recovers in a home atmosphere.
Speaking to reporters Aruna Wagh said that coming home is part of the treatment, to check the recovery speed. He will be taken back to Mumbai hospital in a month’s time and admitted for further treatment.
She said that people would be able to visit Vishnu from Monday onwards only for one hour from 5 pm to 6 pm.
“We have to take care of couple of things while at home. Control on physical stress, control over emotions and infection as advised by the doctors,” Aruna said. “We have to also maintain the schedule and the diet very strictly,” she added.
She expressed gratitude to all of Vishnu’s well wishers for praying for his recovery. “All the people across Goa, across communities and religions have prayed for his recovery. I am thankful to all of them for showering such love towards him,” she said.
She has also thanked the government for supporting Vishnu for the medical treatment.
The former Deputy Speaker was hospitalized in August last year after a cardiac arrest. Initially he was treated at Goa Medical College and later shifted to Mumbai where he spent almost seven months and returned home on April 5.
