PANJIM: There are water tankers everywhere rushing to spots and colonies whose residents can afford to pay. Every drop counts and is expensive. Yes, this is water we are talking about, not blood. But with months of no regular water supply, the blood of thirsty residents is on the boil
In yet another routine exercise the people of Merces, Chimbel and Santa Cruz village panchayat submitted a memorandum to the office of Public Works Department (PWD) Panjim requesting the authorities to solve the issue of irregular supply of water in the St Cruz constituency.
Girish Uskaikar, Zilla panchayat member of Chimbel and in charge of St Cruz constituency said, “Locals from St Cruz area are facing the problem of water scarcity for past 10 days. In this regard, we have submitted the memorandum to the Chief Engineer of PWD. The CE 1 of PWD has assured to solve the problem within 24 hours.”
