PANJIM: Minister and Independent MLA Govind Gaude has alleged that MGP is blackmailing the coalition government.
“Whatever stand has been taken by MGP should be done by withdrawing support (from the government). It is not correct to threaten and blackmail the government by being a part of the ruling coalition. With the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and two by-polls, the situation should be handled differently,” Gaude said responding to questions on MGP’s remark against BJP.
Coming down heavily on the regional party, Gaude took a dig at MGP’s changes in loyalty during government formation. “Let us see after a month or so, whether this party will support or withdraw from the government,” he said adding, “Nobody is talking for the people of Goa.”
Last week, MGP president Pandurang (Deepak) Dhavalikar had said that patience was running out and had threatened to take a further decision within one month if Parrikar does not hand over the charge to senior cabinet minister.
The former MLA had also said people were complaining of the collapse of State administration.
