MAPUSA: Goa Boxing Association (GBA) has sent 18 promising sub-junior and youth potential boxers for a joint 15 days training to Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS), Bellary in Karanataka.
The Goan boxers have got an opportunity to train at India’s first High Performance Training Centre that trains talented young athletes across five Olympic disciplines namely wrestling, boxing, judo, athletics and swimming.
The entire training cost is being borne by the Goa Boxing Association.
They will train for over two weeks under the watchful eyes of American boxing coach, Ronn Simms who had guided the former World junior champion, Nikhat Zareen for the 2020 Olympics.
The delegation has been accompanied by two coaches from Goa namely Pravin Shirodkar and Lavania Kunchi.
