MAPUSA/RAIA/PANJIM: Peddem Bomm SC came from a goal down to hold Valpoi FC to a 1-1 draw in the Goa Football Association Division II League match played at Sirsaim ground, on Monday.
It was Sudesh Salkar who put Valpoi FC ahead in the 29th minute of play with Peddem Bomm Sports Club netting their equaliser in the added time of the first session from the boots of Romario da Costa, 1-1.
Fr Agnel YSC, Paroda, moved past Our Lady of Gloria Sports Club 5-2 at at Don Bosco Oratory ground, on Monday.
Fr Agnel YSC’s Christ Oliveira and Steve Menezes netted a brace each, while Mackson Dias netted a goal. For Our Lady of Gloria SC netted a goal each through Gibbon Baretto and Valin Vaz.
In the Mormugao Zone, at BITS Pilani ground, Rising Star and Cultural Club and BITS Pilani played a 2-2 draw.
At Agassaim ground, Aditya and Nikhil helped Piedade Youth Association, Divar, outplay Nauxim Sports Club, Bambolim, 2-0.
The match started in a slow pace, pushing the entire team in the defence as Piedade Youth Association started skillfully attacking in search of the goal and missed many easy chances.
As the match progressed, Defender Sheves put a through ball in the goal area which was well collected by Aditiya to send the ball into the net, 1-0.
Nauxim SC made some quick moves and tried to score the equaliser but PiedadeYouth Association goalkeeper Gauresh Kuttikar was quick enough to thwart the rival moves.
At lemon break, Piedade Youth Association were leading 1-0.
After resumption of play, Nauxim Sports Club kept pushing themselves into the defence of Piedade Youth Association in search of an equaliser but Sheves and Nikhil’s counter attacking did not allow Nauxim SC strikers to score.
Thereafter, Piedade Youth Association displayed some good footballing skills to double the lead and in the bargain Aditya dribbling past rival defenders put a clean pass to Nikhil, who easily netted, 2-0.
