CURTORIM: Ambelim Sports Club downed Maina Sports Club 2-0 to book their place in the semi-finals of the Curtorim Villagers Cup inter-village football tournament organised by Curtorim Gymkhana, at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim, on Wednesday.
The first best chance fell to Ambelim striker Standly Fernandes but the latter’s shot was denied by the Maina cross bar in the 6th minute.
Two minutes later, Maina through Aliston Fernandes’ power-drive shot hit the Ambelim post.
Ambelim Sports Club netted a brace through Nail Cardozo in the 46th and 65th minutes respectively to make it 2-0.
