Big time tennis cricket at Cuncolim

Youth of Cuncolim will organise their 2nd edition Cuncolim Premier League five overs 9-a-side tennis ball cricket tournament in memory of Eslinda Alemao at Kaita ground, near Kadamba bus stand, Cuncolim from February 12 to 13.
The 2-day tournament will feature top teams from Goa including Cuncolim.
After successfully organising the first edition last year, Youth of Cuncolim are all set to give cricket fans more action. The champions will get Rs 30,000 and a trophy while the runners-up will pocket Rs 20,000 and a trophy. Individual prizes for best player, best bowler, man-of-the-match and man-of-the-series will be awarded. The losing semi-finalists will receive Rs 5,000 each.
Devendra Dessai, Chairperson of Cuncolim Municipal Council and president of Youth of Cuncolim disclosed that the tournament will definitely generate a lot of excitement and enthusiasm as Goa will see its top tennis ball players in action.
Tennis ball cricket buffs will be able to witness stadium-packed matches with the organisers promising to provide fans with fireworks, live band and lots of other entertainment alongwith daily housie worth Rs 10,000.
Dessai also mentioned that on February 12, only teams from Cuncolim will be allowed to play and on February 13, State teams will be in action. Entries close on February 8. The finals are slated for February 13 at 5 p.m.
