Bondorim, Zoribhat move into quarters

Bondorim and Zoribhat romped into the quarter-finals of Catherine Viegas memorial inter-village football tournament, at church ground, Chinchinim on Wednesday.
Bondorim defeated Dandeavaddo 4-2 via tie-breaker. Teams were locked goalless at the end of regulation period. Bondorim proved better shooters to emerge victorious.
In another match, Zoribhat came from behind to defeat Sarzora Sports Club 2- 1. The teams were tied 1-1 at half time.
Sarzora took the lead in the 14th minute through Wilson Fernandes who neatly found the target after receiving a pass from Jorex Fernandes.
Stung by the setback, Zoribhat took the fight into the rival camp and finally snatched the equaliser in the 20th minute through Raju Raikar, who unleashed a powerful shot that crashed into the net keeping Sarzora goalkeeper dazed.
Crossing over, Zoribhat put up a better display and made couple of sorties but failed to find success as their forwards either shot wide or straight into the rival goalkeeper.
Zoribhat struck the match winner in the dying minutes when Narcisco Fernandes bulged the net off a cross from Ashy Rebello.
