A splendid performance from Chubby Cheeks HS, Porvorim saw them overcoming Kerti Vidhayla, Siolim 4-1 in U-17 Bardez zone football tournament organised by DSYA at Peddem complex on Wednesday.
Anson D’Souza scored a brace while teammates Latesh Mandraker and Stanley Fernandes added one each. Sachin Bandekar scored a consolation goal for Siolim.
St Ann’s, Tivim got the better of Holy Family HS, Porvorim 2-0. Lester Fernandes and Abdul M were the scorers for St Ann’s.
Earlier, Seminary Our Lady HS, Saligao defeated Sacred Heart, Anjuna 2-0. Roy Mouro and Agnelo Monterio were on the score sheet for Saligao.
St Joseph’s HS, Calangute overcame Holy Cross HS, Bastora via the dreaded tie-breaker while Holy Cross HS, Siolim hammered Mae de Jesus HS 6-0. Slagan Fernandes was in fine form and bagged a hat-trick. Maxy Menezes scored a brace and Elton D’Souza scored one.
