PANJIM: On the occasion of United Nations International Day of Older Persons, Churchill Brothers CEO Valanka Alemao, General Manager Frazer Alemao along with the players and the children from El Sheddai Charitable Trust, paid a visit to an old age home, Institute of Public Assistance Provedoria, in Margao.
The UN International Day of Older Persons is celebrated annually on October 1, to recognize the contributions of older persons and to examine issues that affect their lives.
Valanka distributed things of everyday use to the aged residing at the home.
Later, in a small function, the club’s forward Binnesh Balan sang an impromptu song to entertainment the senior citizens, followed by a game and prize distribution.
Valanka said, “It was a pleasure for us to be here and bring a smile to the faces of elders. We need to do more for our senior citizens and treat them with utmost respect.”
The footballers distributed snacks to the senior citizens and spend time in interacting with them. Churchill Brothers players included Captian Dharamaj Ravanan, Naveen Kumar, Bikramjeet Singh and Binnesh Balan.
