RAWANFOND, NAVELIM: The match played between Corps of Signals and Dempo SC ended in a1-1 draw in the Goa Professional League match played at the 3MTR ground Rawanfond, Navelim, on Saturday.
Corps of Signal’s goalkeeper, Ozen Vivian Silva did a commendable job with a plethora of saves from Dempo SC.
Lairellakpam Singh of Corps of Signals went on to attack and sent in a goal bound shot however Tyson Caiado goalkeeper of Dempo SC made an easy save in the 5th minute.
Striker, Felix Chiddi of Dempo SC tested the rival goalkeeper in the tenth minute but Ozen was equal to the task.
Felix Chiddi late rolled a ball to Kapil Hoble in the 23rd minute but the latter’s shot was easily saved by Corps goalkeeper.
Dempo SC strikers went on to draw the first blood with Felix Chiddi, Kapil Hoble and Joaquim Abranches all shooting on targer in the 37th 39th and 43rd minutes respectively however Ozen made it look easy after he saved all the three strikes.
The second half started with upfront moves from Dempo SC midfielder Beevan D’Mello who connected a ball to Joaquim Abranches in the 47th minute but shot wide.
Joaquim Abranches’ solo effort for Dempo missed the net of Corps in the 50th minute.
Dempo pressed at the front with Joaquim Abranches but his shot was saved yet again by Ozen in the 65th minute much to the disappointment of Dempo striker.
Lairellakapam Singh for Corps made a swift move and dribbled past a couple of rival defenders and sent past a thunderous strike which crashed into the nets of Dempo SC in the 70th minute.
Dempo SC trailing by a goal got more serious within 15 minute equalised for Dempo SC through Joaquim Abranches’ header in the 85th minute after Anthony D’Souza sent a well measured cross.
