SANGUEM: Curchorem Gymkhana scored a 4 wicket vicotry over Sportsweek CC Margao in the final of South Zone GCA B Div cricket, at GCA Sanguem ground, on Sunday.
Electing to field, the Curchorem Gymkhana drew blood in the very first ball as Yogesh Dongre cleared the stumps of Nagappa.
But Agildas Alambatta (35) and Kaushal Singh (66) steadied the innings and some quick runs by veterans Vasudev Kundaikar (21) and Vicky Nevgi ( 32 n.o. in 16 balls) took the score to a respectable 198 for 7 in 40 overs.
Tanranjit Singh (2/41), Sagar Kore (1/28) and Yogesh Dongre (1/42) bowled well for Curchorem.
Chasing 199 , Digesh Angle took 2 wickets in 2 balls to peg Curchorem at 27 for 2 but Yogesh Dongre (71) who was supported by Taranjit(24) and Anup Vernekar (29 n.o) bailed out Curchorem who won in the 33rd over losing 6 wickets.
Anish Mhaddolkar took 3 wickets while Pralav Kerkar managed to scalpe one wicket.
