PANJIM: Don Bosco High School, Panjim, got the better of Regina Mundi High School, Chicalim, 2-1, in the quarter-final to move into semi-finals of St Domnic Savio inter-school invitational football tournament played at the Nagoa panchayat ground, on Tuesday.

It was Regina Mundi HS all the way in the first half scoring their lone goal in the 13th minute through Affan Shah. The Regina Mundi HS boys controlled the game in the first half.

At the breather, the Don Bosco coach changed their strategy energising the boys and in the 2nd minute equalised through the boots of Zayan Xeque.

Then there was no looking back for Don Bosco HS as they took charge of the game and again took the lead with the efforts of Zayan Xeque. The Regina Mundi HS put some pressure towards the end but the Don Bosco HS defence stood tall and kept away any danger.

In the second quarter-final, Marina English High School, Vern,a downed Fr Agnel High School, Pilar, 2-0. Fr Agnel HS took the lead in the 10 minute through a

Long-range shot from Bishal Nayak. The sturdy youngsters from Fr Agnel HS kept the Marina English HS players away from any harm to their goal.

Marina English HS came back in the second half with do or die strategy which helped them equalise with the efforts of Dylan D’Souza.

Fr Agnel HS tried their level best to go ahead but were kept at bay by the Marina English HS defence. Suddenly, there was a rush of good passing and ball control by the Marina English HS and they managed to get their second goal from Chic Gama.
