KIRBHAT-NUVEM: Guirdolim SC outplayed Raia SC 4-1 to enter into the quarter-finals of the Parish Youth Cup inter-village football tournament organised by Parish Youth Nuvem, played at Nuvem church ground, on Monday.
The match started on a promising note and both the teams had equal number of chances in the first ten minutes.
Guirdolim scored their first goal through Joston Martin’s in the 19th minute.
Raia equalised through Joyston Barbosa rasping drive shot in the 30th minute.
Guirdolim’s coach Glimson changed the game plan in the second half by giving extra task to Sabik Shaikh who created chances from the flanks.
In the 35th minute, Sabik Sheikh sent in a diagonal ball to Mario Fernandes of Guirdolim who at once fired from close range to double the account.
Sabik Sheikh netted two quick goals in the 45th and 50th minutes for Guirdolim to take the final tally to 4-1.
Raia SC tried to get back in the game but their strikers fumbled with chances that were created.
