CURTORIM: Maina Sports Club blanked Seraulim SC 2-0 to move into the quarter-finals of the Curtorim Panchayat Cup, organised by Maina Sports Club, at Curtorim ground, on Friday.
Seraulim had the first chance in the third minute through Sidney but the latter’s shot failed to pop up into Maina net. Two minutes later, Maina’s Joliston Rebello’s header hit the Seraulim side-netting.
In the 20th minute, Maina SC broke the deadlock when Joliston Rebello curling free-kick sailed into Seraulim net. Seraulim should have doubled the tally but Flosio’s long range effort was brilliantly saved by the rival keeper.As the match progressed, Jovin Carneiro doubled the account for Maina SC. The scores remained 2-0 till the final whistle.
Maina SC will meet CAC Cansaulim in the quarter-finals on February 24.
