RAIA: Margao Sports Club secured a 2-1 victory over Sporting Club Davorlim, advancing to the quarterfinals of the 1st Vauradencho Ixtt Trophy, organised by Batora United Club, in association with Margao Sports Club, at DSYA ground, Curtorim, on Tuesday.
In a clash between neighbouring teams, Sporting Club Davorlim took the lead in the first half through Delton Colaco, holding a 1-0 advantage at halftime.
However, Margao SC regrouped swiftly in the second half, dominating play and equalising through Fr Mario Noronha. In the final quarter, Cliff Barreto netted the winning goal, sealing the victory for Margao SC.
Cliff Barreto of Margao SC was presented man-of-the-match trophy by match commissioner Franky Fernandes.
