Mohadin Khan scored a double brace as St Sebastian Sports Club, Mapusa defeated Guirim Youth and Cultural Association 5-3 in GFA’s Third Division at Anjuna ground on Monday. Sebastian led 2-1 at the breather.
St Sebastian will now have to sit with their fingers crossed that Guirim can defeat Adarsh Yuvak Sangh in the final match of the group. Adarsh have nine points alongwith Sebastian and will only need a draw in their final encounter against Guirim to qualify for the play-offs and join Holiday Sports Club.
St Sebastian took the lead on 15 minutes when Mohadin Khan punted home.
Sandesh Ralima equalised for Guirim in the 34th but within two minutes St Sebastian restored their lead as Mohadin netted his second.
Six minutes after the breather Guirim dug deep and levelled for the second time scoring through Telwin Fernandes.
St Sebastian continued to apply pressure and it was only a matter of time before they would score. St Sebastian started to pull ahead and in the 56th Cashenut Luiakar struck to put them 3-2 up.
St Sebastian continued to attack through the wings as they could sense there were more goals in offing.
Mohadin struck to complete his hat-trick in the 64th making it look so easy.
Eight minutes before the end Mohadin added his fourth to the delight of his teammates giving St Sebastian a much deserved victory.
