MARGAO: A first half goal by striker Milton Gomes helped Navelim Villagers Union to overcome United Club Nerul 1-0 and enter the semi-finals of All-Goa Joao Francisco Pacheco memorial inter-village football at Betalbatim sports complex, Tuesday.
Navelim began on an aggressive note with strikers Milton Gomes and Alvito Colaco launching a barrage of attacks but Nerul goalkeeper Xavier Estrocio kept the duo at bay with fine reflexes and anticipation.
After a couple of misses, Milton Gomes beat his markers and unleashed a cracker which found the roof of the net The lone goal of the match came in the opening session when striker Milton Gomes bulged the net off a pass from Alvito Colaco.
