RAIA: Navelim Veterans defeated Assolna Veterans 4-3 via the tie-breaker and qualified for the final of 3rd Assolna Veterans Football Cup at Assolna ground, on Wednesday.
Assolna held the upper hand early in the first half and a top of the area shot from Jerry Fernandes posed a semblance of a threat to the Navelim goal. However, Navelim goalkeeper Julio Quadros came to the rescue of his team.

Navelim goalkeeper Julio came to his team’s rescue twice, the first with a diving save to deny a header from Jaison Cardozo and then from a Michael Barreto free kick.
Assolna Veterans controlled the proceedings towards the end, but somehow a goal proved elusive.
In the tie-breaker, Cajie Santiago, Jaison Cardozo, Claudio Dias and Philip Ferrao converted for Navelim. Peter Fernandes, Urbano Fernandes and Robin Pinheiro scored for Assolna.
