PANJIM: Pilerne Sports Club along with Goa Football Development Council inaugurated their month long summer football coaching camp at Pilerne Panchayat ground.
Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar inaugurated the camp. Over 75 boys and girls from the village were in attendance going through various drills under the supervision of chief coach Agustine. While addressing the gathering Dr. Rufino Monteiro, Chairman, GFDC pledged full support for development of football at grassroot level so that the dream of the Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar of bringing Goan football to glorious heights is fulfilled. He further said that GFDC will spare no efforts in all-round development of football all over Goa. Chief Guest Shri. Dilip Parulekar expressed great pleasure in getting the Government support to develop football in the village and revealed that Pilerne and Saligao will have their football grounds developed very soon in keeping with government policy of having one well developed football ground in every village as football and Goans are inseparable.
Among the present were Sandeep Bandodkar, Santosh Bandodkar, Mathew Gonsalves, Samir Naik, Oscar Bruzon, Alex Alvares, Fabian D’Souza and Kuldeep Sharma.
