RAIA/SAO JOSE DE AREAL: Raia SC defeated Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda 5-0 in the GFA 3rd division football match, at Raia Panchayat ground, on Wednesday.
Raia SC opened their account after they scored in the very first minute through Dolrich Simoes and continued to dominate the other teams with their tactics.
Soon, Savio Gomes doubled the lead and Denzil Fernandes went on to further give his team a 3-0 lead in the 11th minute.
Don Bosco Oratory boys tried to get closer to the goal and reduce the margin however their efforts were futile and just before the half-time whistle Melvin Gauncar made it 4-0. Crossing over, Raia SC looked to inflate the lead however Don Bosco Oratory gave them a tough time as they defended their citadel well and made a few counter moves.
Raia SC got back on their feet later in the game and drove the final nail into the coffin through Delan Gomes taking the tally to 5-0 in the 78th.
In another match, at Sao Jose de Areal ground, Sao Jose de Areal humbled Guirdolim SC 3-0.
In the 23rd minute, Jaison Vaz of Sao Jose de Areal rolled a ball to Vincent Dias however Vincent’ left footer hit the rival defender and went out of play.
In the second session, Sao Jose de Areal scored through Princeson Dias in the 47th minute.
Jason Vaz scored a brace for Sao Jose de Areal in the 51st and 58th minutes taking the tally to 3-0.
Aggie Antao was for Areal made two powerful strikes however his attempts were saved by keeper Mauvin, of Guirdolim SC.
Guirdolim Club tried to make a comeback into the match however their strikers faltered at the goal as the full-time score read 3-0.
