Sesa FA and Sporting Clube de Goa Play Out Stalemate in Goa Professional League

MAPUSA/RAIA: Sesa FA and Sporting Clube de Goa played to a goalless draw in the Goa Professional League at Sirsaim ground on Friday, following the abandonment of their previous encounter, due to severe weather conditions.

Sporting Clube remains at the top of the table with 22 points from eight matches, while Sesa FA climbed to fifth place with 15 points.

The match resumed from the 25th minute, with both teams eager to break the deadlock. Sporting Clube started strong, creating several opportunities in the first 20 minutes. However, Sesa FA’s defense held firm, preventing any breakthroughs before the break.

In the second half, Sesa’s coach Charles Dias made crucial substitutions, bringing on Clencio Pinto for Velito Rocha and Sachidanand Satelkar in place of Sankalp Kankonkar. These changes added fresh energy to their attack, with Clencio causing problems on the wing and Sachidanand’s presence in the box injecting urgency into the home side’s play. Despite their best efforts, Sesa FA could not find the elusive goal.

Sporting Clube also had their chances but struggled to breach Sesa FA’s resolute defense. Joel Colaco was booked in the 67th minute, adding to Sporting’s disciplinary concerns.

Both sides continued to push for a winner, but the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

Bidesh XI came from a goal down to defeat BAFF by 3-1 margin in the GFA’s Second Division league played at Quitula ground here on Friday.

It was BAFF colts that stunned their opponents by Dipam Tilve scoring in the very 2nd minute of play. However Kaish Naroji not only levelled terms for Bidesh XI unit, but Cyden Saldana and Swayam Kerkar pumped in two more goals for the winners.

At Duler stadium, Sangolda Lightning registered a hard fought 1-0 win over Benny XI Mapusa. The all important goal came in the 78th minute of play through a gem of a goal scored by Gaurav Kavlekar.

Rising Star SCC defeated Ace Soccer Academy 2-0 in the 2nd Division League match, at Tilak Maidan, Vasco. Mohammad Feroz Hussain and Chrisval Gonsalves scored a goal each for Rising Star.

At Cansaulim Sports Complex ground, match between Chicalim SC and Vasco City SCC ended in a 3-3 draw. Sadik Ingalgundi, Sujal Kumar Soni and substitute Yaseen Desai scored for Chicalim SC, while Chandrakant Shedad, Anston Gonsalves and Shaheel Shaikh scored a goal each for Vasco City.

Calangute Association

Sesa FA came strongly into the match to humble Calangute Association lads by 9-0 margin in the GFA’s Boys U-13 Ist Division league played at Poriat ground.

Pratik Tate did most of the damage scoring a hattrick with Erwin Figardo and Muzammil Saiyed both netting a brace each. Jade Sequeria and Purshurana Kandolkar added their names to the scorers list.

Guardian Angel SC down Churchill Brothers

Guardian Angel SC defeated Churchill Brothers FC 4-2 in the U-13 division I football match at Dramapur ground. Mashwen Dias, Aryan Naik, Arvind Oraon and Roman Rebelo scored for Guardian Angel SC while Clive Colaco and Mukesh Kashyap scored for Churchill Brothers.
