South Goa United Club Triumphs 5-3 Over PVC Parra in Goa Football Association Division II Play-Offs

MAPUSA: PVC Parra fought gallantly to go down fighting to South Goa United Club by 3-5 margin in the Goa Football Association’s Division II Play-Offs played at Duler Stadium, here, on Thursday.

In an action-packed encounter, PVC Parra played heavy for the number of missed chances early in the first quarter of the match with Savio Fernandes, Fhezer Gomes and Royden Rego being the culprit.

At the other end, South Goa United Club scored two quick goals through Alex Fernandes (6th minute) and Mildroy Menezes (11th minute) from the assist by Pedro Gonsalves. However, in the 35th minute, PVC Parra finally managed to reduce the margin with Fhezer beautifully collecting a long ball from Pallay Murari and after covering some ground placed the ball into the far corner of the goal, 2-1. South Goa United Club were back in action to find Casvino Fernandes and Alex Fernandes pump in two more goals to go into the breather with a 4-1 margin.

On resumption of play, PVC Parra came back into the match with Fhezer scoring from the penalty spot and substitute Cyprian Rodrigues scoring from his individual brilliancy to make it 4-3.

After both the custodians brought couple of saves South Goa United Club’s Pedro Gonsalves made the issue safe as he scored the fifth goal from the penalty spot to complete the 5-3 rout.

At Guirim ground, Vagator PYSC and Vasco City were locked in a goalless draw. After the second round matches, Vagator PYSC and South Goa United Club have four points each.
