NAVELIM: Sports and Welfare Club of Zaino held Mandopa Sporting Club to a 2-2 draw in the Goa Football Association’s Second Division League match, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Wednesday.
Travis Souza managed to break through Zaino’s defence as he gave the Mandopa side a goal advantage in the 24th minute.
In the 44th minute as Salvador Rebello slotted the ball home to make it 1-1.
After a couple of attempts at the goal, Mandopa SC were rewarded with a penalty after their striker was brought down in the box. Aulon Gomes stepped up and sent the keeper in the wrong direction to give his side the desired lead.
Zaino’s Laxman Thapa placed the ball home to make it 2-2 in the 77th minute.
In another match at Curtorim ground, Nuvem Sports Club defeated Tilamol United 4-2.
Stanley D’Mello slotted the ball past the rival keeper before Hayson Velho made it 2-0 in the injury time. Stanley scored once again for the Nuvem outfit in the 61st minute.
Tilamol regrouped and pulled a goal back in the 64th minute through Alvino Carvalho before Leo Fernandes scored for the Tilamol side to make it 3-2 in the 72nd minute.
Stanley drove the final nail into the coffin to make it 4-2 in the favour of Nuvem SC.
