MAPUSA: St. Joseph HS, Calangute thrashed St. Thomas Boys HS, Aldona by 10-0 margin to enter the semi-finals of the Subroto Mukherjee Football Bardez taluka tournament organised by DSYA, at GFA Duler Stadium, here on Friday.
Leethan Silveira scored a hat-trick while Prem Kumar Sharma, Romero Fernandes and Xaxa Raul scored a brace each. Sanket Karapurkar made it 10-0 in the dying minutes of the match.
In the other semi-final match, a heroic performance from Rajesh Sharma helped St Xavier’s HS,Moira to drub St. Anthony’s HS, Monte Guirim by a 4-0 margin.
All four goals were scored Rajesh.
In the pre-quarters matches, St Joseph’s HS, Arpora blanked St. Michael’s Convent, Vagator 4-0. Topan Minj scored a hat-trick while Amay Patekar made it 4-0 for the Arpora school. In the last pre-quarter-final match, Little Flower of Jesus HS, Calangute defeated Keerti Vidyalaya, Siolim 5-0. Bilson K scored a brace while Anees P, Jayesh P, and Mandar K scored a goal each.
