MAPUSA: St Thomas HSS, Aldona scored a solitary goal victory over SFX HSS, Siolim to move into the semi-finals of U-17 Subroto Mukherjee Bardez Taluka level football tournament organised by the DSYA, at GFA Duler Stadium, here on Saturday.
Yash Pawar scored the all important goal in the second half of the match.
In the next quarter-final match, St. Britto’s HS Mapusa downed St. Anthony’s HS, Duler 2-0. Josley D’Souza and Shivam Banawalikar scored for the winners.
In the other pre-quarter final match, St. Xavier’s HSS, Mapusa hammered St Theresa HSS, Candolim 6-0.
Roger Miranda scored a brace while Nelson Monteiro, Devendra Pilankar, Magnel D’Souza and John Pereira scored a goal each for the Mapusa side.
In the other pre-quarter-final, St Theresa HS, Candolim drubbed St Xavier’s High School Moira 5-1.
Altaf Hussain, Sebastian Gonsalves, Priyansh Parab, Nacent D’souza and Veril Pereira scored for the Candolim school while Monesh Totad scored the only goal for the Moira School.
