The King’s School, Loyola HS book semis berth

MAPUSA: The King’s School beat defending champions Perpetual Succour Convent HS Navelim 2-1 to book a place in the semi-finals of the 3rd Chowgule Sports Centre U-10 futsal league organised by YFA and co powered by Capitao Security Services Pvt. Ltd. and The King’s School, at Chowgule Sports Centre, Margao, on Saturday. 
Man-of-the-match Emmanuel Gama opened the scoring for Perpetual from a free-kick in the fourth minute. 
Kings tried to level the score but nothing seemed to be going right for them as their strikers were not able to keep their shorts on target.
 The second half was more of the same and finally Mark D’Costa found his shooting boots as a scorching right foot shot from the midway of the court beat the Perpetual keeper to level the scores. 
The game looked like it was heading for a tie-breaker but Mark D’Costa found Elrad Braganza who neatly headed the ball in the back of the net with 10 seconds left on the clock all but sealing a semi-final berth for The Kings School.
Loyola HS, Margao booked their semi-final spot with a comfortable 4-1 win over St Jude’s HS, Betalbatim. Loyola endured a rocky start as they went behind to a Fredrickson Fernandes goal, but Richie Pereira scored immediately to level terms.
 Skipper Irwin Faleiro gave Loyola the lead with a scorching left foot drive before Reuben Barbosa steadied the ship with a third and Richie Barbosa scored again in the second half to all but seal victory. Milwerd D’Costa was adjudged the man-of-the-match.
Rosary HS, Navelim will meet Loyola HS in the semi-finals after they scored a thumping 9-3 victory over Futebol Club YFA. 
Man-of-the-match Sweedon Costa scored five goals while Messi bagged himself a hat-trick and Sanjay Yadav scored one for the winners. Soham Mane scored a beautiful free-kick while Aaryav D’costa and Zane Reveredo scored for FC YFA.
Lochlan Sousa was in dazzling form as he scored a hat-trick and assisted six times to book Manovikas EMS a place in the last four in a massive 9-2 victory over Saviour of the World HS Loutolim. 
Yohann Sousa also bagged a hat-trick while Dalziel Rodrigues, Jaime Soares and Arjun Naik scored for the winners. Lochlan Sousa bagged the man-of-the-match prize.
The semi-finals will be played on October 9. Loyola HS will play Rosary HS, Navelim at 9 a.m. and The Kings School will lock horns with Manovikas EMS at 10 a.m.
