UC Telaulim down Nerul; march into last eight

VASCO: United Club Of Telaulim stormed into the quarter-finals of the 44th Bandodkar Memorial football tournament, organised by Baina Sports Club, overcoming the strong challenge of United Club of Nerul by scoring once in each half, played at MPT ground, Vasco, on Monday.

In the 10th minute, Telaulims Alvito Colaco solo run was stopped by Nerul’s defender Dwyane Britto, who intercepted in time to thwart any damage at his goal.  
Nine minutes letter Aldrich Coelho of Telaulim effort was parried by Nerul goalkeeper Sidhesh Morje.  
At the half-hour mark, accepting a pass from Clinton Niaso,  Alvito Colaco opened the account for Telaulim 1-0. 
Goaded by the success, Brendon Gomes, Alvito Colaco and Aldrich went in the attack and the last named shot towards Nerul Goal which deflected from the feet of Dwanye Britto for a corner kick.  
After change of ends, both the teams played robust soccer as Nerul tried for an equaliser and at the other end Telaulim looking to increase the lead. 
In the 46th Minutes Nerul’s Julius D’Costa passed to Nehal Naik, who blasted over Telaulim goal from close range.  
In the 50th minute Alvito Colaco passed to Clinton Niasso who shot home however to his dismay he was flagged offside by the referee.
Thereafter in the 62nd Minute Clinton Niaso increased the lead accepting a pass from Alvito Colaco (2-0).
At the hour mark, Telaulim went all out with substitute Audtritch Baretto trying his luck from distance which was saved by agile Sidhesh Morje goalkeeper of Nerul. 
In 68th minute, substitute Audtritch Baretto shot narrowly missed the target after Clinton Niaso and Rohan Periera had done the spade work. 
Dwyane Britto of United Club of Nerul was awarded the man of the match which was handed over by well known businessman and former president Of Baina Sports Club Rajan Bhosle
