Vailankani Arambol Sports Club entered the semi-finals of Pramodini Dattaram Palyekar soccer tournament, with a narrow 4-3 tie-breaker win over Football Club of Siolim, at St. Anthony’s church ground, Siolim, on Tuesday.
Arambol had two clear chances to forge ahead, but Keval Fernandes attempt rebounded off the post, while Bruno Fernandes shot was halted by Siolim goalkeeper Joseph Britto.
Siolim too had a chance in the dying minutes but Sangam Pednekar’s header was superbly blocked by the Arambol goalkeeper.
In the tie-breaker, Jaison Fernandes, Bruno Fernandes, Samson Fernandes and Vivek Kanulkar were on target for Arambol, while Sangam Pednekar, Vinay Pednekar and Anthony Fernandes scored Siolim.
