PER-SERAULIM: Verna Veterans edged past Curtorim Veterans 2-1 to lift the Flame of Unity Veterans Cup, at Mabai Per-Seraulim ground, recently.
Verna opened the score-line through Seby Vaz in the 20th minute.
Eighteen minutes later, Curtorim equalised through Ignes and the match winner was scored by Baptista D’Mello for Verna in the 53rd minute.
The winners were awarded Rs 30,000 while the runners-up received Rs 25,000 plus trophies.
Churchill Alemao, MLA of Benaulim constituency was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to winners and runners-up in the presence Nelly Rodrigues, ZP member of Colva, club officials and other dignitaries.
