Virat Kohli may be 37, but there are few signs that the Royal Challengers Bengaluru icon is nearing the end of his Indian Premier League career. According to RCB CEO Rajesh Menon, the batting superstar could comfortably continue playing for another three to four years, potentially extending his IPL journey until 2030.Kohli has enjoyed a remarkable period with RCB, helping the franchise win back-to-back IPL titles in 2025 and 2026. After ending an 18-year wait for a trophy in 2025, RCB successfully defended their crown the following season, with Kohli playing a central role in both campaigns.Speaking to CNBC TV18, Menon highlighted Kohli’s fitness, hunger and commitment as reasons why the former India captain remains capable of competing at the highest level. He described Kohli and RCB as inseparable, noting that the star batter has been the one constant presence throughout the franchise’s history.The numbers support Menon’s confidence. Since retiring from T20 internationals after India’s World Cup triumph, Kohli has continued to thrive in the IPL. He has scored 1,332 runs in 31 matches at an average of 55.50 and a strike rate of 154.70, placing him among the tournament’s most productive batters during that period.Kohli also adapted his game to modern T20 demands. In IPL 2026, he amassed 675 runs at a strike rate of 165.84, the highest of his IPL career. His unbeaten 75 in the final against Gujarat Titans helped RCB secure a second successive title.For now, Kohli is recovering from a hamstring injury that kept him out of India’s ODI series against Afghanistan. His focus remains on returning for the England tour and preparing for the 2027 ODI World Cup. However, if his current form and fitness continue, fans could still see him wearing RCB colours for several more seasons.
